November 2, 2021 - Both Hamilton and Burr meet their children for the first time after the battle for Yorktown and both have hope that they can build a better country and that their children can do the same. The show is by its nature kinetic, the story of a nation constantly in motion, “just like my country, I’m young, scrappy and hungry” in the musical’s iconic phrase, shown by a cast constantly in motion, in capturing these elements that the superb touring production now at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre shines its very brightest.

The most lauded musical of our generation, Lin-Manuel Miranda’s audacious treatment of American founding father Alexander Hamilton arrives in Vancouver seven years after its Broadway debut in a scintillating touring production.

Next, at the height of the COVID restrictions, I was delighted to be able to see a filmed performance by the original cast on Disney Channel and enjoyed every moment of it. Hamilton is at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre until June 29. Now, thanks to the touring version on show at Vancouver’s Queen Elizabeth Theatre until June 29, I have been able to see the complete stage production.

June 13, 2022 - Top-flight cast members who have been honing their parts on tour each bring their own flow to this almost continuously sung- and rapped-through musical. In fact, Hamilton is really more akin to an epic, three-hour hip-hop opera.

May 25, 2023 - After seeing the show multiple times, it was interesting to see the characters being played both the same and different. The cast was lead by Julius Thomas III as Alexander Hamilton who was charismatic, bold, and energetic.

September 15, 2025 - We attended the 7:30 PM performance of Hamilton in Ottawa on August 17 as a family—parents and two teens. From the very first note, we were utterly awe‑struck by this production. The entire cast was spectacular, but we were truly moved by Nikisha Williams, whose portrayal of Eliza Hamilton was emotionally powerful and unforgettable.
