OP here - I can't edit the original post, but should mention that by "hanging" I mean the plants grow/hang downward (not just the pot hangs from a hook) similar to how Pothos will hang and create a veil-like wall to block the sun. Answer from joeshmogen on reddit.com

r/houseplants on Reddit: Hanging/trailing plants that actually like direct sunlight?
April 30, 2021 -

I forgot that the sun was a thing and now I've had to move all my hanging plants from the windows. My babies were getting scorched :( Now, all that remains are a bunch of cacti and snakeplants. In short, my windows look empty and boring now.

I can't seem to find any trailing plants that actually enjoy direct sunlight... 99.9% of them enjoy indirect sunlight, and I probably already have them. Does anyone have any suggestions for what my next purchase should be?

If you want to put it somewhere that gets more indirect light, or is even shady, then you may want to consider a fern or other low-light loving plant, like a pothos.
