December 13, 2018 - jack345; In the summer of 2017 I bought at least one of every 4-1/2" cutoff disk available locally in retail stores, and a device from Northern Tool that you can mount an angle grinder in to make it work like a small chop saw. My plan was to run a test to see if there was any difference in the time it took for each disk to cut through the same steel stock---maybe 1" square tubing. I couldn't control the conditions entirely because I didn't have a way to make sure that the pressure would be the same on every cut except to do my best. I got ready to do the test with a brand new cheap Harbor Freight 4-1/2" angle grinder, but it failed after only one cut.
