But well, sometimes You need a little bit excitement so why not to design this house extra creepily, like so scary that even people who doesn't believe in ghost will be scared to death in there. Small noises would go a long way too, you could create a custom resource pack with some creepy sounds and play them using command blocks on certain triggers. Some skittering noises as you turn a corner, maybe some wind noise and branches tapping against a window. You could add barely audible whispering as you go deeper into the house as well.
