Hey everyone!
I’m looking for really good, engaging movies on HBO Max — something that grabs attention from the very beginning.
If you have hidden gems or underrated picks, please share!
Looking for new shows or movies to watch bored of the usuals and just signed up to max
Hi all,
Looking for good to great movie recommendations that anyone has seen on MAX lately!
I'll go first; I recently watched Source Code (2011) with Jake Gyllenthal & Upgrade (2018). Both of which were good Sci-Fi movies that I'd recommend.
Upgrade was probably the better of the two. It had a cyberpunk feel to it and kept me focused until the end.
I just got HBO Max and I’m super excited excited but I do not have a clue what to watch. Any good recommendations?
Been burning through some great movies on HBO Max recently. Any good recommendations?
I am 25 and have recently been loving biopics, history movies, documentaries, thrillers, suspense, drama, action, not really into horror but can do some scary stuff.
I have recently watched The shining, 2001 a space odyssey, and have been obessinging over all the Stanley Kubrick detail. Is there any movies/directors like this? I used to love Christopher Nolan but found Tenet way too confusing and not that enjoyable, just the visuals. Sorry if I'm all over the place. I'm new to this sub but I LOVE movies and I always have ever since I was a kid. I know there's some great movies out there that I haven't seen. Please give me some recommendations! The most recent film that I saw which I totally recommend was Gary Oldman play Winston Churchill in "Darkest Hour". Great film, would watch again (despite it being hollywoodized a bit). Sorry if im all over the place. I look forward to chatting with some of you!
Edit: I forgot to add that I also just watched "All the Presidents men" on HBO and it was SO GOOD!!!! Honestly such a great film. I would definitely watch that movie again!!
Go to reelgood.com, mark whatever streaming services you have (just HBOMax if you want). Go to the movies tab and sort by either IMDB rating or reelgood score. Enjoy.
I swear I'm not being paid by reelgood, I've just found the website very useful over the last year.
I enjoy the Alien franchise
Basically what the title says, what are some of the absolute best movies and just good movies in general that are currently on Hbomax? Animated and live action movies
Watched a bunch of shows and movies. Wondering if I am missing out on any. What shows and movies would you recommend?
I’m up to date on Succession and Curb your Enthusiasm
EDIT: I should have somehow emphasized more, over the last few years only. Thanks
I grew up homeschooled without much TV so I haven't seen most of the classics, the cult classics, or just whatever movies and shows other people use as cultural touchstones. I used to read about them on Wikipedia or TV Tropes or wherever and have no idea where to watch the really cool-sounding ones. Netflix has a few from time to time, so does Tubi, but HBO Max so far has the biggest proportion of the films I've been hearing about all my life and wanting to see, from old (Casablanca) to new (Parasite). A whole bunch of Ghibli movies, too! I watched Porco Rosso yesterday and really enjoyed it.
I know the catalogue may be about to be diluted with the new change to MAX, and that they've deleted shows and movies for totally unjustified reasons in the past, so it's amazing how much good stuff they still have despite their practices.
Movies please ang dami ko ongoing na series haha Thriller or comedy
I’m letting my max subscription run for 1 more month before I pull the plug since I don’t use it that much. What’s your favorite film on there that I should watch before I leave? :)
And tell me why. :)
