Hopefully this gets a good discussion going, in my opinion HBO had the best originals in the 90s, sure we had a good collection of channels but I honestly spent more time watching HBO than a lot of stuff, I remember staying up and watching oz , definitely should not of been watching it I was around 12, I also was obsessed with their films, the McMartin indictment was a great film about a horrible situation. Thankfully max has a lot of things I never thought I'd see again, even their docs were amazing the west Memphis three docs are a great rewatch.
I just feel like all of their content was great, even taxicab confessions, yes HBO practically peddled porn in the nineties but so did everyone else on pay cable. Tell me I'm not the only one that feels this way about HBO.

I'm genuinely bummed that all the late night HBO stuff isn't available on HBO max. I wanna watch Cathouse and Taxicab Confessions. Shit they should bring back taxicab confessions. I'd watch the hell out of that.

The 00s is when they really hit their Stride. Sopranos kicked off in 99 but the majority of its run took place in the 00s, also we got The Wire, Deadwood, Band Of Brothers, and Curb Your Enthusiasm which are some of “Peak TV’s” best shows. 90s HBO was alright, besides Oz, you had The Larry Sanders Show, Mr. show, and Tales From The Crypt which were great as well but still a few steps down from what would follow.
