HDMI port suddenly stopped working
No HDMI signal suddenly.
HDMI Display Not working after current Windows 11 Update
HDMI cable not detected by computer
Videos
Hi
I have a Lenovo laptop, about 4 years old, and the HDMI port suddenly stopped working. I tried the cable with another computer and then it worked fine. I also tried to update the graphics drivers in both the Nvidia control panel and in the device manager. I also tried to uninstall the drivers and none of these methods worked
The computer doesn't even register that the HDMI cable is plugged in.
I am completely stuck on this problem and don't know how to solve it, is there something else I can try?
I'm unsure if this will help anyone, but on my laptop, in Device Manager, Windows 11 had disabled both of my Display adapters: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics and NVIDIA GeFore RTX 3060 Laptop GPU. I right-clicked on them and clicked Enable, and instantly my monitors connected again.
For me, I don't think an update caused this, but rather I was already connected to my monitors, and then they suddenly disconnected. I'm not sure the cause. Hope this helps someone.
This bug is impervious to logic.
Has been working fine for months. Suddenly stopped yesterday.
Driver says it doesn't need updating.
Have updated every system option in sight.
As a last resort, I uninstalled the secondary HDMI monitor.
Windows 11 now does not detect it.
(It detected it just fine when I first brought up the computer,
lo these many months, so I suspect a bug in the latest Win 11 update.)
HAH! Solved! After doing all of the above, I tried a HARD reboot, instead
of a SOFT one. (Shut the machine down, then push the start button, instead
of selecting "Restart" from the menu. All of the system-update restarts must
have been soft restarts )
The problem might have gone away sooner in the process, but at no
point was a hard restart required or recommended!
