Can anyone recommend a good upholstered headboard/frame that the Sleep Number adjustable bed fits into? I'm looking at the Bradenburg Upholstered Wingback Bed on Wayfair, or anything similar. I think I can build the bed without the center slats and the Sleep Number should fit inside? Does anyone have any success stories to share? Thank you!
Have done some research with really bland results to try and find an acceptable non $2500 option for headboard/baseboard for my king sleep number. (I forget the model, I'll update the post in the morning some time). Was hoping someone on here had some pointers on websites to sell adapter kits so pretty much any head/footboard will work, and save me some money in the long run... both gf and I are tired of mattress sliding forward when we tilt the bed, but I'm tired of spending unlimited money's on pillows because we flatten them having to stack countless pillows to lean against while watching TV, and inevitably because the bed slides forward 1-2 always fall in the crack by the wall. TIA. I know the bed is the in-between model from the i8, and i10 that they used to always put on sale as it's a promotional model. (No, they didn't call it the i9, because that'd make too much sense)
You gotta get the mattress bars. They hook into your base to keep the mattress from sliding forward. Without the bars, eventually the fabric will get weak and the magnets will rip out and you will need a new cover. I'm sure they will charge you over 1k for a new one. They sell the bars for $60 i think. They sent me some for free when i complained about the problem. But you can get a basic headboard and footboard frame without drawers and it should work. I did that and had to buy some bed riser blocks off amazon to raise my bed up so the base would fit within the frame. It was a tight fit but it worked. I just made sure to measure the base and the frame before i bought it to make sure it would work. The frame i got was from a mom and pop shop so i wouldn't have a link to it.
They only have 1 set of bars that fit their models. The holes for the bars are under the fabric at the foot of the base. You will have to slice the fabric where the holes are to be able to put the bars into the base. They are just bent metal and you can push them into the holes. The bars come a little wider than the hole spacing buy you can easily push them into place. The holes should be 18" apart from each other and maybe 4-6" in from the foot. You should be able to feel them with your finger beneath the fabric
