Hi all, I’ve been WFH for over 2 years now and pretty soon am going to be spending a lot more time working from coffee shops. I’m in tech sales and have a few calls per day with prospects. I need a good pair of headphones that will block out any background noise so when I’m speaking on the call, the prospect only hears me and not coffee shop music/chatter etc.
Currently use AirPods Pro but the mic definitely does not block a ton of background noise. Any recommendations?
Thanks!

Why can I still hear some sounds through noise canceling headphones?
Noise canceling is great for blocking out consistent sounds, so the microphones have time to detect the sound and cancel it out. Loud, sudden noises are too quick to be properly canceled out, so you’ll still hear these unless you have really good passive isolation.
What are the best headphones that eliminate my background noise for the person on the other end of the call?
For top-tier noise elimination on the microphone end, ensuring clarity for the person on the other side of your call, the Sony WH-1000XM5 stands out. Its microphone boasts highly effective noise suppression, ensuring that even in environments with wind or background noise, the person on your call won’t be disturbed.
Does noise cancellation block all noise?
I'm living in a relative's home for the summer and my room is attached to the living room and doesn't have a door. There's constant talking, music, singing, video games etc coming from the living room and I can't hear myself think, so it's hard to study or sleep. The only thing that's worked to block out the noise is white noise with my headphone volume set to 100, but it's extremely loud and probably terrible for my ears.
My current headphones have a noise cancelling setting but it only blocks out ambient noise. Is there any relatively cheap (preferably under $100) set of headphones I could get to block out voices? earbuds also work but I'm not really a fan of them.
I just started working from home and have meetings nearly every day. Keep running into the problem where the dogs will start barking and it comes off as unprofessional. What sort of headsets are the best to block out background noise? I found a couple that looked good from this guide like Plantronics and Jabra. Would wireless or bluetooth be the best option?
