Pretty much all phone based vr headsets are about same (just need to make sure phone actually fits in). However can't realy recommend phone VR. It's just bad. If you do end up buying one don't spend more than 30 bucks, may as well get a Quest if your issue is not having a computer. More on reddit.com

Headsets with mic, answer button and volume controls which are iPhone compatible, in general, will not work with Android headsets. The mic and the sound will work, but the buttons will not.

Android phones mostly use the standard layout of the 3,5mm jack, but there are some special cases. For example, Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 uses a slightly different jack than Galaxy S. The difference is barely visible by the naked eye, but when I use the Tab headset in Galaxy S, the music sounds like it's mono, not stereo and the answer button doesn't work. I'd advise you to test before buying if possible in order to eliminate any unfortunate surprises.

October 30, 2023 - If you really want VR get a used Quest 1 for dirt cheap. ... Android headsets will have very limited tracking compared to a headset with actual 6 degrees of freedom. This is just as important as clear visuals. Consider a used headset. The Quest 2 can actually sideload a lot of the same apps as your phone/tablet, seeing as how it's basically an android device itself.
