Heavier7Strings - any experiences? also with the company? - Instruments Forum - KVR Audio
I picked it up to get away from having to use large lump that is Kontakt. I do like Shreddage though. Heavier7Strings is great for heavy rock/metal rhythm and leads, I wish I got it early It's lighter than Kontakt.

July 11, 2020 - Used Hydra a lot along with the AI bass library. It's definitely heavy and I like the tone when into modern metal, alternative and alike. Harmonics are there when playing in octaves or fifths, just try long sustains. Also worth looking at Heavier7Strings and Ample Metal Eclipse or Hellraizer.

Hopefully i can post this here, if not, please recomend me a nother sub.
I need some tips for a free VST for an electric guitar that sounds great, both with distortion and without. I can find tons of stuff like plugins, but i need an actual instrument like FL slayer where i can create / play riffs with my keyboard. I found something called ample metal guitar wich sounded AMAZING but i am not paying 100euro for that. So i want something free.

June 14, 2024 - I would look into Prominy SC-2. I don’t own it myself, but the demos sound really authentic to my ears. I picked up V-metal on a sale several years ago and used it a lot to sketch out ideas. I still like it better than the alternatives from AmpleSound and ISW, although they are great as well.

Hi everyone
I hope someone can help me in this one.
Basically I want to make a metal song with my own touch to it as a birthday gift for my best friend.
Thing is, I know nothing about the making of metal music. And since this is a birthday gift I want ut to be as personal as I can make it so it doesn't feel super right to use samples.
So if anyone can recommend a free metal guitar VST I'll take it

Unreal Instruments Metal-GTX for Sforzando fed through Ignite Amps TSB-1 -> Emissary -> NadIR with the free Catharsis impulse responses. Add highpass EQ at 100 Hz. Optionally, tame the low end mud with multiband compressor (the "Andy Sneap trick") That's a good starting point for the guitar tone itself. However, VST guitars take some very meticulous MIDI programming to sound somewhat realistic.

I could point out a revision of the engine, and the string arrangement algorithm, allowing to select them also manually alternative to the CC's, with keyswitches for the strings, would not be bad have the two options, incorporate a visualizer that shows the articulation that is being executed, be able to do hammers/pull off in a conventional way (with overlapped notes) for those like me that prefers using the velocity range to play sustain / palm mutes (and at this time, is u have to renounce to hammers/pull off and legatos if you use this option), also create another more realistic and practical way to make slides off...
