When picking a height adjustable desk, you want one that handles load consistently and moves smoothly between heights. Cable management and modular panels help keep everything organized. I often check setups with SEON first but end up using Dezctop desks for their modular back panels and ergonomic designs. More on reddit.com

Have tried different variations over the years. A few of the things that I've found: It's really hard to have an adjustable workstation that works well in both positions Most of the cubicle based solutions for sit / stand that I've tried are terrible Among other things, they usually fail to adjust for differences in the idea horizontal position of the user - just raising things up and standing in front of a desk often means that the keyboard and/or screens are too close Professions like drafting figured out at least part of the solution long ago and switched to taller chairs that bring the sitting height closer to standing height so that it's easier to alternate without needing as much mechanical complexity for adjustment The more input devices and/or screens you have, the harder it gets Coming up with something that works if you're using multiple 40+" displays is really, really difficult I tried mounting an adjustable desk to the ceiling & built a frame off it to hang monitors, but the forces were too much and it kept tilting toward the wall over time Similarly, something like a 2-tier desktop with a keyboard tray works OK for additional height adjustment if you've just got a mouse & keyboard, but doesn't work at all when you add in things like multiple stream decks, macro pads, & a microphone I've given some consideration to just having 2 banks of monitors & using the second bank when I want to stand, but that adds its own layer of complexity & cost to things If you plan on standing for extended periods of time, you really need something to stand on other than the floor I've tried cushioned anti-fatigue mats, & a few different exercise-type devices One of my favorites was "The Wave by The Firm" -- a balance board that I commonly see at local thrift stores for next to nothing: All the options I've tried are incompatible having an office chair roll over them To go back and forth, you're stuck figuring out where to put the thing for standing vs. where to put the chair when you're not using one or the other In a home office this is workable If you're constrained to something like an 8x8 cubicle, it's next to impossible For some tasks, the height of the desk doesn't matter at all Taking a conference call from a phone while walking around is going to give you more health benefits than standing in place and doesn't require any investment at all in desk setup Mostly current photo of my setup (I've since added in a SpaceMouse and am currently building a new office where I'll be switching from 43" displays with height adjustment to a fixed lower bank of 55" display & an upper bank of 43" displays: More on reddit.com
