Hemnes Bed Frame
The bedframe comes with a small wrench, but its likely been lost to time. If you have some needle nose pliers, that should allow you to loosen the nuts off enough to spin them off with your finger. If you don't have them currently, whatever they have at the Dollar store/pound shop should work well enough. The threaded rod can then be unscrewed from the head/foot-boards to make it more compact. I've moved twice with my Hemnes and it's survived. More on reddit.com

I do in king. Have had it for five years and it even made it through a move. We haven’t had any issues with it at all and it has had lots of adult activities without issue 😉 More on reddit.com

So I am in the middle of packing for a move. The landlord is letting me have the bed frame I was using. He didn’t have instructions but the frame has Hemnes on it so I found the PDF of the Assembly instructions.
I feel so frustrated. Is Ikea furniture hard to disassemble? I don’t know why I can’t figure this out. I’m looking at the instructions PDF but I can’t figure it out. I feel close to just giving up and leaving it for trash. 😂
And some parts look different in the pictures then my bed. But overall it is my bed plus I did double-check that Hemnes is the mode name on the frame. There are 4 screws with nuts on them, holding the sides of the frame to the headboard and foot of the bed. But they are in these weird little circle openings that I can’t fit a socket wrench in to remove the nut. And I definitely can’t fit a drill or screwdriver in there either.
This post probably doesn’t make sense but I am at my wit’s end. 😂 Are these frames not meant to be taken apart?

We're planning to use it mainly as a sofa in the living room. I have read more negative reviews when it is used a queen/king size bed. I want to hear some positive reviews too! Well, negative reviews are still welcome before we spend our money with this furniture.

Had one for 2 years now. No issues at all, quite comfortable but make sure to invest in mattresses. Building for me was physically a little hard but not complicated. I have moved with it as well and didn't have issues disassembling and reassembling it.

If you have the right mattress(es), it’s perfectly comfortable as a full bed! I’ve slept on it for at most one week in a row. Would not use it every night probably

November 24, 2014 - Ikea beds use slats in the frame to support the mattress. A boxspring would be redundant. I would suggest getting something other than the basic slats. The basic is usually what's included when they list the price, but it's worth it to spend a little more. We don't have the Hemnes, but we've had our Ikea bed for about 8 years.

I'm thinking of getting the HEMNES queen bed frame with the LÖNSET bed base this weekend to match my dresser I have.
I was wondering how is the quality of the frame long term and is it worth paying more for the LÖNSET bed base?

Hemnes is a great bed as it is made out of solid wood. Lonset is great as there's a wooden frame underneath the slats to ensure the slats stay in one position all night!

I have the bedframe with the luroy slats (cheaper ones) and if you assemble it correctly it is very worth it. Definitely doesn't feel like I bought cheaper slats.
