I like that Qobuz allows 3rd-party implementations (presumably via an API) - allowing 3rd-party apps, non-Android DAPs, and other devices to stream. I've read some complaints about the relative simplicity of most implementations. The HiBy Qobuz interface is better than some - it offers some discovery features, for example, while BubbleUpnp doesn't. But one useful feature I find lacking (or maybe just can't find) is the ability to specify highest quality desired. The phone apps have it, as does the web player. The HiBy app will always play the highest-quality stream available. In a perfect world, that's exactly what I'd want. In the real world, however, sometimes the internet is shitty and high-res streams buffer and hiccup. Or I'm on a cellular hotspot, with a data cap or throttling cap,and I'd like the option of listening at reduced quality to conserve data. I've not figured out how to do that with the HiBy R3 Pro.
I haven’t seen a way. I just got my R3 Pro and I’m trying out both Tidal and Qobuz but I want to limit the output for a different reason. I really like using the MSEB option to mold the music the way I like it and it doesn’t work with MQA. Because of that I’m leaning towards Qobuz. Something else may keep me from keeping the device though. It looks like Qobuz seems to limit the list of personal things to 50, like your album and tracks list. It’s a small subset of what I actually have in my collection. Tidal seems to allow more but I don’t know for sure. Do you see the same thing? Would you know if there is a setting for this that I missed so that I can see my full collection? Thanks!
