I actually prefer high rise. My “stomach” doesn’t like to be touched below the belly button. High rise fit comfortably on my waist and don’t squish my lower abdomen.

Forgot to add: eBay is a godsend here. You can set a filter for rise and get high rise pants as a result. I think their filter classifies anything over 11-12 inches as high rise, check the measurements for each pair of pants individually though. I've got vintage high rise pants from Brooks Brothers, Armani,LL Bean, Zanella, Brooks Brothers, Dockers, Ralph Lauren, etc. There's also plenty of options from individual men's tailors that went out of business years ago, I've got pants with tags like "Tom's Menswear of Omaha" that don't exist anymore but they're well made and look great too. Any fabric you can think of, wool, cashmere, linen, wide wale corduroys, etc. I haven't paid over $60 for any of them, and most of the prices have clustered between $30 and $50. Basically if you want to explore high rise don't feel like you only have a limited selection from current designers. For instance: https://www.casatlantic.com/collections/mogador I really like the look of their trousers and I'm going to buy a pair in white because I havent had any luck finding a pair in my size in that color on eBay. I won't pay $180 for the khaki colored ones because I already bought a pair of khaki Ralph Lauren pants for $14.99. I'm still going to buy some pieces from current collections because I'm a firm believer in voting with my wallet but I'll be patient and buy the bulk of what I need from eBay or thrifting. Get your measurements, may have a tailor double check them to be safe, and explore on eBay. If you know your size it's relatively low risk high reward IMHO. More on reddit.com

I’m trying to a pair of jeans that is -actually- super high-waisted. I’ve found some jeans that are called “ultra high rise” at A&F but they fall just under the models’ belly buttons.
Ideally I’d want a pair that falls at the smallest part of my waist/directly under my ribs, which would cover my belly button. I really want my belly button to be covered so I can get away with wearing some pretty small crop tops and not looking super exposed. I just want to be a little more covered on the bottom if I’m wearing a tiny top.
No preference on the cut! I like skinny, bootcut, mom jeans… I LOVE flared pants, I think they’re so sexy.
I’m 5’8” and wear a 6 or a 4 depending on the style; usually 6 for low-rise jeans and 4 for high-rise.

If you measure the distance from your crotch to your natural waist, you can figure out what rise you will actually need. American Eagles highest rise is around 12.5 inches, their mom jeans are typically 13 inches. I'm also 5'8 with a long torso and their highest rise is an inch below my belly button, mom jean typically at my belly button and just below once it settled. For something with a 14-15 inch rise you'll likely need to go designer.
