Because doctors are fkn stupid. It's amazing how often I get downvotes for saying it, but it's true. People can't bring them selves to accept that their norm, where doctors fix them and do no harm, is not true. It's sad that people can't think for themselves... More on reddit.com
T4/t3 combination - what symptoms did it resolve for you, if you use it?
I still feel basically dead with t4-only. If I increase the dose, I just get side effects but no benefits. Using a t4/t3 combo (NP thyroid) lets me feel like a functional human again. For me, that means: energy and motivation to do things, a MUCH improved mood, warmer hands and feet, normal blood pressure (as opposed to low) and a robust appetite. Many people seem to do fine with t4 only and their body converts it just fine but I am not one of those people and I am thankful we have other options! Sorry I just saw that you asked about levo/lio specifically, which I have not done but I think if you are handling the levo alright and add t3, you could expect similar benefits to those of us on armour/NP thyroid etc. More on reddit.com
Patients Requesting T3

You may get a bill for it since it’s not a necessary test, are you ok to pay out of pocket for it?” I don’t think the fight is worth it for a full “no”but this sets up the expectation for follow up when we talk about results. I am not on any thyroid meds however I have symptoms super similar to hypothyroidism. I have a very puffy face despite being ... More on reddit.com
