Don't listen to American advice. Martin Lewis's Moneysavingexpert website is a pretty solid resource for finding bank accounts etc. he has podcasts and TV slots too. Rates are more like 3.5-4% in the UK. https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/savings-accounts-best-interest/ For £150 a month you might find a "regular saver" account is the best rate.
