I was checking the Hikari 2023 future LEDs to replace some old ones I have on my civic: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0B1MGXR3D/ref=twister_B0B1MBFJP1?_encoding=UTF8&th=1 I currently have a 2018 EX-LT with the halogen projectors, but checking the specs of the LED bulbs they seem "rated to 65W", my concern is that both high and low beams on this car are rated to 60/55w respectively, thus being kind of a risk for the wiring harness, has anyone tried this bulbs or know if claimed wattage is real? (LEDs normally consume lower wattage than halogens)
Any advice?
Aside of that, I was thinking as an alternative the Acme-X: https://www.amazon.com/HIKARI-HyperStar-Wireless-Equivalent-Replacement/dp/B08S37X311?th=1 that seem to be rated at 32W
I'm also open to suggestions for other type of LEDs, thanks!
Just wow! The Hikari Ultra LEDs are awesome and plug and play!
I have been reading everywhere on the web about LEDs for my Volt. If you drive a Volt you know just what I'm talking about, the headlights suck. There is so much untrue and misleading information out there that it is incredibly hard to make a decision on which LED bulbs will work in any car let alone a Volt.
The Hikari Ultra LEDs work great! It took me all of 10 minutes to install them. Only thing to remember is to plug them in reverse polarity because the Volt uses reverse polarity for the headlights. Don't worry if you don't know what that means. If the headlights don't turn on, just rotate the plug 180 degrees and try again, they will work. These are very compact and have top notch build quality. All the wires easily fit into the light housing so it makes it very easy to reinstall the dust cover. No modifications are necessary!
Hikari makes 2 styles of headlight LEDs. They make less expensive ones that come in a black box and the high performance Ultra LEDs that come in a white box. The regular LEDs are the same brightness as stock factory halogens. The Hikari Ultra LEDs are 245% brighter than stock halogens in projector style headlights! Don't worry! The beam pattern is great with the shutter in the Volt keeping the light close to street level with very little to no scatter.
THESE LIGHTS DO HAVE A BLUE TINT TO THEM SO IF THAT BOTHERS YOU, THESE ARE NOT FOR YOU!
If you decide to do this you need to order the 9012 style bulbs. That is size/style that fits the Volt.
Here they are on Amazon. Make sure to read the reviews: HIKARI Ultra LED Headlight Bulbs Conversion Kit -9012
