There are areas that very clearly inspired by the Research Hall and the Fishing Hamlet, though they don't mimic the gameplay and area layout all that much. The positives about Lies of P: Overture far outweigh the negatives. It just surprises me how poorly the early game was balanced, given how near-perfect the balance of the rest of the game is.
