Experiences with Hockey Authentic?
For what it’s worth, I asked HA about stitching a RR 2.0 back at the beginning of Jan and they told me it was 6 month turnaround because they didn’t have kits yet. They said they didn’t expect to have kits until April/ May. Not sure if that affects you, but putting it out there. More on reddit.com

Difference between authentic and replica
When Reebok made NHL jerseys (something that stopped this season when adidas took over), they made two different types: authentic and premier. Premier jerseys are the ones you normally see in stores and worn by most fans. They were maybe $140 blank if my memory serves me right and close to $200 stitched, that being Canadian. These jerseys were made in bulk and weren't exactly the same as the players wore. Some concessions were made. Premiers (what you'd call a replica) were sold in sizes of S-XXXL, I believe. They're easy to spot because they have a silver jock tag at the bottom. It's in the front bottom corner, and lists the size. Some people take these off, though. Authentics are better made, with better materials and are more like the players wore. These have fight straps, were once made in Canada but then switched to Indonesia, and didn't have jock tags. They're more durable, but were more expensive. As in some can cost $350-500, but that's Leafs pricing which is absurd. (Look on Jersey Baron's ebay site for a Matthews or Nylander authentic Edge jersey). These jerseys were sold in numerical sizes: 46, 50, 52, 54, 56...NOT 48 though. You'll see many fakes that are size 48, however. Team issued authentics are jerseys that were made for the team to wear but weren't used. Game worn means they were. Team issued ones were all made in Canada from what I've gathered, so they're the holy grail as are game worn. Apparently the Canadian made ones were a bit better made. Now, when adidas took over this year, they only started making one type: their version of the authentic. It's supposed to be like the players wear, but there are some differences (though they're apparently not too major based on some of the comparisons posted here). Once again, the players' jerseys are made in Canada. The others are made in Indonesia, I believe. The Canucks released some made in Canada adidas jerseys for something like $400-500. Other teams have sold game worn jerseys, but the made in Canada adidas jerseys are not easy to find. Not cheap, at least. Like the Reebok authentics, these are sold in numerical sizes. They're different from the Reebok ones and made smaller in some areas like the chest. The shoulder material is also different. I personally like them quite a bit. adidas sells them for $200 CAD blank and they're $250 customized at adidas' site or through some retailers. You can get them cheaper through Cool Hockey or Hockey Authentic and sometimes IceJerseys. What happened to the cheaper premier? Well Fanatics is making them and they're nothing to write home about. The difference in price between the Fanatics ones and the adidas ones isn't as big as it was between Reebok's premiers and authentics, so unless you're strapped for cash you're best to go for adidas. The Fanatics ones aren't as nice or as well made, and the material is weird. It's like heavier pajamas. If you buy one, you want to get one that's stitched or hand stitched, not heat pressed. adidas pre-makes some for retailers and heat presses them. Some retailers heat press them themselves. Those aren't as good and don't stand up as well. You want stitched. Made in China jerseys are fake. There's nothing authentic about them and there's no partnership with the NHL. They're sweatshop jerseys. Usually they're off colour, the lettering is the wrong font and so are the numbers. The logos are usually padded and the wrong material. For Matthews, they use upside down Ms for Ws. These are also listed in numerical sizes and often carry Made in Canada tags. Sometimes they have old Reebok logos on them, too, which is funny. The fakes that are made to look like the adidas adizero jersey use a dotted pattern for the shoulders. It's not mesh or breathable like it is on the actual jerseys -- just dots they've put on where the holes should be. Fakes also often have laces that tie up over the NHL logo, which isn't correct. They're apparently also itchy and made with materials that could contain carcinogens. I have never owned one, but I've seen many. More on reddit.com

Ok so this sounds cool but there is literally no information on what changed, waste reduction by doing this, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I like this, but where are the details to show this isn't just greenwashing

r/caps on Reddit: Experiences with Hockey Authentic?

I’ve seen a lot of talk about Hockey Authentic for stitched customized jerseys, so I’m curious to know how the experiences have been within Caps reddit. Like, how’s the quality for example? Normally, I buy blanks online and have the team store in Ballston (as they never have sizes 42-44) ship out to EPS for stitching, but I’m just a little concerned with their wait time this time around. Heard Hockey Authentic is quicker, since it's my understanding they already have the jersey sizes/kits?

Long story short, I’ll be visiting family in Montreal this coming April. My Habs fan cousin got us tickets for the 4/6 game at Bell Centre and I was thinking of maybe getting a Lindgren jersey to wear that night (we like to joke that the Habs are just an alternate pipeline for future Caps, lol). I’ve got an Eller jersey that I plan on bringing it too, but the intrusive ”will he/won’t he be a Cap by April” thoughts are starting to creep in. Just in case, I’m thinking Lindgren would make for a good substitute jersey. Plus, I like the thought that I’d get some wear out of it over the next few seasons.

Hi everyone, I am very new to this whole jerseys thing, and I was wondering if anyone could tell me the difference between an Authentic Jersey, Authentic Replica and just made in China jerseys. Are authentic replicas the same as authentics?

-side note, seeing as I'm very new to this, me trying to be helpful on other posts have left people... less than pleased. Please just understand whatever I do is with good intentions, and just bear with me until I get the hang of this thing :)

The hierarchy is Team Issued Authentic Replica All the shit in the world Some more extra shit The dirt underneath all the shit Chinese fakes/counterfeits Team issued is exactly what the players wore on ice. Authentic is a close replica of the on ice jerseys. Replicas are aesthetically the same but totally different feel and material. Fakes are garbage with arm holes.
