Try NOT to get a store card, especially one at HD. For a good one, try Discover it (I highly reccomend discover) or the Capital One Platinum. The HDCC is really high interest, and if you have no credit at all, it might just be cranked to the lowest limit and the highest interest, and you can only use it at Home Depot, which is worse because your options are limited. A coworker asked me this yesterday, and even asking CS and MOD's, we couldn't get a straight answer. Would it make it a conflict of interest since he's in a specialty department? He said he was looking to sign up for one, since he's planning on some larger purchases to fix up his home, and he was just curious if he was able to do it himself while he was at the store, instead of coming in another day and pulling a coworker aside for it.
