We just bought Kraftmaid cabinets from HD. They were 30% off, but still over 20k just for cabinets, no install or appliances. The sale ends tomorrow and I still have time to cancel. I just heard prices are negotiable on large purchases at Home Depot. Is this true?

The 30% off if you spend over $10k on cabinets has been going on for over a year at Home Depot and lowes. Every time it “ends” it just starts back up again. We had the same sale 6 years ago too when we got cabinets into our old house. Their install prices aren’t bad though because if they do the install you don’t have to pay taxes on the cabinets, so it almost cancels itself out. You should have them quote you at least because it might be worth it. Last time we had Lowes do our install and they did so much better than the private guy we hired this time and they take care of going back and forth with Lowes for the damaged cabinets. They will also put on the handles included in the price as long as you have them at the time of install (at least they did before, not sure if it’s changed). Homedepot Kitchen Cabinets

We have done 3 new build custom kitchens through Lowes. The custom cabinets from Lowes are built by American Woodmark. You have to get your design work done and then buy during one of the big sales that they have and leverage other discounts. We have been able to buy at 35-40% off of list for each project. I can't speak for Home Depot but during the couple of sales American Woodmark has per year is when you want to buy custom cabinets from Lowes(the cabinet design people know when those sales are and will tell you). I would imagine HD has a similar scenario. Lowes builds and delivers, then my trim guy installs them. The only negative is unboxing and checking for any damage within a specific window if your build is not ready for them. We use that opportunity to stage them and build a "key" of what cabinet goes where from my wifes design. Good luck with your build More on reddit.com
