Look up dryer vent cleaning kit. Could also check the inside the dryer for lint build up. my duct from the dryer to outside is 12 inches. i rarely clean it. if its a longer run to get outside you may want to clean it out yearly, if you rent. the landlord should probably be doing drying duct cleaning annually. Were you charged for installation? I've never paid for installation, I just do it myself (I don't have stacked machines so thats not an issue) but I assume if everything is kosher, new supply lines, valves good, ducting ok, location good, then if I've paid for installation, they're installing them. Do they spend hours? When you do installs all the time, it's surprising how much of that time you can cut off because you aren't reading instructions or trying to figure out what piece goes where. General rule (and national gas code requirement) says 1/2” gas line is meant to feed one appliance. Your main gas line is likely 1” or 1 1/4” and you’ll need to tap into the main and reduce to 1/2”. Not saying it won’t work but if you’re hiring a plumber anyway, might as well do it right the first time
