Since you mentioned girlfriend, I'm guessing you're young and don't have kids yet. However, we 'Married with Children' folks have a hard time finding an evening out alone. When we do it's usually just dinner and movie. This year I'm giving my wife a year of dates. I'm putting together twelve envelopes with a planned date in each one. She'll open one on the first of every month and we'll put it on the calendar. The envelope will include all the things we need. For example, January's date is ice skating. I bought her a new hat and gloves. February is a night of bowling. We'll both be wearing goofy socks and playing a bowling drinking game I made up. July is an evening picnic at sunset and then star gazing. I'm putting some glow necklaces in the envelope. Etc... I'll give her the basket of envelopes and we'll open them together all year long.
