Why we haven't seen Horizon 2 released yet... and likely won't for a while.
New (glowing) review of Kevin Costner’s HORIZON: CHAPTER 2

Does anyone know when "Horizon: An American Saga - Chapter 2" is supposed to premiere?
Because it has little market value if 3 and 4 aren't going to be shot. Which it appears that they are not.
That's the long and short of it. If 3 and 4 are dead, who wants to pay for a second installment that goes nowhere, resolves no story lines, and reaches no conclusions?
Horizon 2 still has value as a teaser, a whistle-whetter, if 3 and 4 are back on the table. But if they stay dead, as they appear to be as of this writing in April of 2025, then it's just another hollow chapter in a library of dead series that were cancelled too soon.
If Costner pulls a rabbit out of his hat and miraculously finds financing for another chapter, then they'll sell and release 2 as a lead-up to the release of 3. And that also means it won't come soon, because there is no sign of shooting 3 in 2025.
If a couple of years go by and no 3 & 4 come, then it will eventually limp onto streaming as a final death rattle of a dream that died. We'll all be past caring then.
UPDATE DEC 2025 - For some reason, this old post has been getting more views and comments lately. As of this writing NO FILMING of chapters 3 and 4 has happened and Costner seems to on to other acting projects. Some of the producers of Horizon 1 are filming a secretive $7 Million dollar period Western in Southern Utah called Blood Upon the Promontory, which suspicious minds think may be a cover shoot for Horizon 3, but information is sparse. No release for Horizon 2 in any format since the last writing.
