The 32 Best Horror Movies of 2019, Ranked – Scary New Movies to Watch | Rotten Tomatoes
October 31, 2022 - Happy Death Day 2U was the first 2019 horror movie to connect with critics, even if its Tomatometer score didn’t approach the original’s high mark. In fact, virtually all of this year’s sequels all fell around in the same area: You’ll see Annabelle Comes Home, It Chapter Two, and Zombieland Double Tap all clumped together in this guide.

10 Best Horror Movies of 2019
January 3, 2020 - And while there were some decent franchise sequels (Annabelle Comes Home) and the now-requisite Stephen King adaptations — from Pet Sematary and the superior, if still kinda lackluster It: Chapter Two to the Kubrick cosplay of Mike Flanagan’s admirable Doctor Sleep — 2019 will mostly be remembered as the year that the recently crowned “next wave” names of horror beat the sophomore slump. Jordan Peele, Ari Aster and Robert Eggers all delivered solid second movies and confirmed their staying power (as did The Babadook‘s Jennifer Kent, who stellar revenge movie The Nightingale is required viewing regardless of what genre you’d categorize it as).

Best Horror Movies of 2019, Ranked: Scariest Movies to Watch from 2019 - Thrillist
January 17, 2020 - Release date: May 31 Cast: Vera Farmiga, Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown Director: Mike Dougherty (Trick 'r Treat) Why it's good: There are few things I love more than a good kaiju movie. Doesn't matter where it's from. Obviously the Japanese are the masters, but you'll also find some giant monster epics from South Korea (The Host), Norway (Troll Hunter), and the US. Godzilla's latest Hollywood production is, for my money, the best one yet, and a worthy counterpart to the equally entertaining Kong: Skull Island from a few years back.

The 10 Best Horror Movies Of 2019, Ranked | Cinemablend
December 14, 2019 - This one was perhaps the most highly anticipated horror movie from 2019. A direct sequel to Andy Muschietti's IT, the blockbuster caught up with the Losers' Club 27 years later. Given what a critical and box office hit the first movie was, expectations were sky high for Chapter Two.

Top 19 Horror Films of 2019 - Horror News Network
January 3, 2020 - Well, that does it for my “Top 19 of 2019”. All told, it was a good year for horror films (3 from Hell and the Pet Sematary remake aside); Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark was surprisingly good as was the Child’s Play remake and both deserve a mention here.

The Best Horror Movies of 2019 | Roger Ebert
There are some obvious choices in this collection – Jordan Peele’s “Us” was going to be on any list of the best horror films of 2019 after it’s SXSW Film Festival premiere and Peter Strickland’s “In Fabric” has been a critical darling for over a year now, but there are also surprises like the “Child’s Play” remake, three chapters of Hulu’s “Into the Dark,” and films that even horror fans may not have heard of yet like “St.

This is an... interesting list. I'm surprised to see Us so high. Especially over movies like The Lighthouse and Ready or Not. I thought it would be too divisive to rank #2. I don't agree that Parasite or Joker even qualify as horror movies. This is personal opinion, but I think Happy Death Day 2U and Doctor Sleep are too high. Happy to see Climax so high. It's fantastic. Would've liked to see Child's Play and Crawl a little higher. EDIT: Just noticed Pet Cemetery was included. Odd.
