Does anyone have recommendations for new horror movies, released in the last 1-2 years? If you care to give a one or two sentence synopsis with no spoilers, that would be spectacular.

The only two really recent ones that jump to mind for my part are "Talk to Me," about an enchanted object that grants the power to see dead people (and proves to have other dark side effects), which was excellent -- I'd give it an A-. It is currently on Paramount Plus. The other recent one I watched is "Monolith," about a journalist investigating mysterious bricks that seem to cause illness and paranormal phenomena to those who come in contact with them. It's currently on Amazon Prime. I give it a B; very watchable though not mind-blowing, with an ambiguous and surreal ending.

Both Smile 2022 Barbarian 2022 caught me off guard with their uniqueness. I watched both without watching the whole trailer. I watched those for the good reviews and I was not disappointed.
