October 15, 2023Are "[email]@hotmail.com.au" and "[email]@hotmail.com" the same inbox?
If you go to your account settings, you can create aliases. Try adding it without the .au If it's not available, it will tell you. Someone may have access to it, but there is also a chance it was unused and deleted. If that is the case, email addresses can never be used again, so you would not be able to claim it, If it is truly unavailable, maybe add an alias that is available with hotmail.com and homail.com.au? No, but an increase of spam in the junk folder (where it should end up). This on a Hotmail address that is some 24-25 years old and works great. More on reddit.com

Losing important emails can be quite frustrating. But you can take a few attempts to recover lost emails.
Have you checked out Outlook web Online?
- Sign in to Outlook Web (www.outlook.com) in a browser.
- In the left pane, select the deleted items folder.
- At the top of the message lists, select deleted items from this folder.
- Select the items you want to recover and click the Restore button.
Items you choose to recover will be returned to their original folders.
