Does anybody here have a SAD lamp? Does it help your mood this time of year?
Give it a try. I use my Verilux for 60 minutes every morning. Just as important, though, is vitamin D and outdoor exercise every day. Doesn't have to be crazy, just a long walk or whatever. I take 3,000 IU of vitamin D and I walk while it's still light out, so maybe midday for you if you can use your lunch for that. My seasonal depression also got a lot better when I stopped drinking alcohol. That was the biggest change. More on reddit.com

Does Your SAD Lamp Help With Insomnia?
Kind of... I wouldnt say it helps with Insomnia as a direct benefit.... But it does help get my circadian rythm adjusted to waking earlier which could allow me to fall asleep easier and more naturally. But would need to have good sleep hygiene everywhere else. More on reddit.com

I'm quite fond of light, I've been around it for as long as I can remember.

I use one of those lumi wake up alarms to help with grogginess in the morning, you know the one that starts to glow a half hour before your alarm. I want to invest in a half decent SAD lamp, because apparently it can improve melatonin/ seratonin production. I know I'm not the only one to post about this, but I'm after some juicy fresh anecdotal evidence. I'm on the vitamin D already (heh) but wondered if it's a worthwhile investment.
