Amazon Luna is a cloud having service ran by Amazon obliviously. Cloud gaming is the same as say Netflix instead you stream video games over v an internet connection. Various platforms and services are Xbox Cloud Gaming, GeForce Now, Boosteroid, PS Now and so on. Luna is the most unique being you have publisher channels you subscribe to play. Luna has 2 tier with included games, Luna+ ($9.99/mo.) and Prime members get to play free games each month that rotate out. Ubisoft games can be played free with prime and/or a Ubi+ subscription (must own the games on PC through Ubisoft Connect). You can play Luna on a firestick or sideload to an android tv device + play via supported browser like Chrome. You can also install on PC. You can purchase a Luna controller from Amazon typically $39.99 which is the best for low latency with BT & wifi direct connectivity. Any controller should work though. Also must have Prime membership to play Fortnite. That's pretty much it. Answer from BangEmSpiff on reddit.com

I keep seeing Luna on Amazon and need to know what it is. Is it just a controller? How does it access games? Is it a monthly subscription? Pay per game? One time buy? Is it worth it? I’m not tech savvy at all, so even reading the description goes over my head. I want to get this for my dad, but not sure if he can use it. He’s also not tech savvy, but understands how to keep using it once he is shown. So please tell me everything I need to know. Any help is appreciated.

r/AmazonLunaHub on Reddit: How Luna works?
February 9, 2025 -

Hi, I still don't fully understand how Luma works. I have amazon prime, some games on GOG and on Epic Games.

  1. For example, I want to play Kingdom Come: Deliverance. What are my options?
1a. I can buy it on the Luna web. https://luna.amazon.es/game/kingdom-come-deliverance/B0D6Y4ZYJ1 If I buy it there, I can play it without Luna+ subscription?
1b. If I buy it on GOG. Do I need a Luna+ subscription?
1c. If I buy the Luna+ subscription, it is included? How can I know which games are included?

  2. What happens if I don't pay the amazon prime subscription anymore? Do I lose access to Luma. Even if I pay the Luma+ subscription?

Thanks in advance

Luna’s gotten so good lately, I actually cancelled my GeForce Now subscription.

I’ve been aware of Luna for a while and dabbled with it here and there, but something changed recently, coincidentally right around the recent GamePass price hike (nice timing Amazon). The platform has seriously leveled up, especially with the ability to cloud stream select titles from GOG, Ubisoft, and EA that you already own. I’d love to see Epic Games join the mix next.

The growing libraries from Prime Gaming and Luna Prime are a solid bonus too.

There’s still room to grow (21:9 aspect ratio support would be a game changer!), but I’m genuinely excited to be along for the ride as Amazon continues to evolve this service.

So I just want to get some talk going in this group! I came across Luna when it first started but fell off and stuck with stadia back then. Once stadia shut down I decided to get into consoles, but soon I was getting sick of the constant updates and memory storage running short.

Literally 2 days later Fortnite gets announced for amazon luna. I give it a try and was blown away with how well it worked. I have fiber internet and had no lag at all. Decided to try it on my Fire HD 10 tablet and was blown away with how well it worked on that. My fire tv, nothing less than how well everything else worked. Then I connected my ubisoft account and had access to all my Assassin's Creed games which is my favorite franchise! And with being a prime member I didn't have to pay anything extra!

Now Xdefiant is coming to Luna as well! And AC Mirage! I am in for the long run on this!

Using the Luna Controller has been nothing but amazing as well.

Here is to hoping the Fire Max 11 goes on sale during prime days coming up cause if it does I will be snagging that thing up instantly!

Is Luna gaming worth it? : r/LunaCloudGaming
September 19, 2023 - Well worth it, you already have everything you need, a Luna controller is just optional (but better) ... There’s monthly free games to stream with your Prime membership; try those out first to see how well your connection does with the service. ... The tech works great, library 💩, needs to switch business models or else they'll die like the glorious Stadia.

Hello Amazon Luna team.

I'm having a blast playing with Amazon Luna +. I used to be a hardcore gamer, but now, because of work and since I have a kid, Amazon Luna+ is great for my casual gaming. The game library is appealing, and adding games from Ubisoft and GOG is a great perk.

The best thing, however, is the streaming video quality and response I get from the games.
I hope Luna doesn't go away silently. I hope Amazon can back this product up for a couple of more years.

Thanks Luna+

r/truegaming on Reddit: Is the Amazon Luna doomed to go out the same way as the Google Stadia?
May 2, 2025 -

Basically death by lack of users, amateur marketing, and poor consumer sway. There wasn’t enough selling points for the Stadia to distinguish it from its competitors—the Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch and reception towards cloud gaming has been lukewarm at best. Most gamers are content with digital gaming, but I’m doubtful that they’d want to pay a subscription fee to stream games (that they don’t technically own) on their devices.

Though the Stadia went out with a silent sour fart, the Luna is still kicking though it isn’t nearly as popular as the competition. It’s arguably had a better run than its Google counterpart, but that’s not saying much as it’s a largely unknown peripheral within gaming spheres. The absence of a similar cloud gaming service has given it more leeway, but it still has Xbox Cloud Gaming to contend with that holds a stronger connection with the household than Amazon does with catering to gamers.

I guess its still in the beta stages cus I had to apply to try it out and got an email few days later saying I got it and gave me a link. There's 2 tiers: the 5.99/month and 14.99/ month. Im trying the 5.99/month plan and I get 7 days free at first so i can cancel if im not satisfied.

Obviously the cheaper tier is not gonna have all the games, actually most of the games are like the indie, Kickstarter games. Most of them were already on the Xbox Game Pass so nothing new. The only games im playing are Ys 8, Metro Exodus, and Control. So far the actual streaming is good, no hardcore lagging or anything. Im using my T-6 Helios gamepad, works well. For 6 bucks a month, its ok but i hear thats the early price, it might go up. I might keep it a month or so cus I really am digging those 3 games.

I know thr 15$ a month has all the Ubisoft games but might as well get the Xbox Game Pass for that price

April 13, 2025 -

I used to have the latest Xbox but frankly I didn’t have to the time to play it to reasonably want to keep it. However I’ve been getting the urge to have some type of game to play in my free time and am considering purchasing a Luna controller along with Luna + I’m already a primer member as well. Anyone have any tips or information as to whether I’ll be disappointed or whether it’s worth it? I have a firetv which allows the Luna app to be installed with 4k capability

It depends dude what is your gaming habit. For me Luna is a bittersweet experience because it works really well but the library is lacking. I too have a very limited amount of time to play so I only play specific games which are not available on Luna. I do however play KCD thanks to Luna’s partnership with GOG and I really enjoy it. I wish Luna was more like Stadia in terms of game offerings and social features. I wish there was PUBG, RDR2, FIFA, GRID. There is a no features to chat with other gamers or form online parties which sucks balls. It’s been two years since Stadia closed and there is still bunch of us from Stadia that hang out online. Since you have Prime anyway then Luna comes as a free perk so it’s a no brainer to use it.

Totally worth it. The controller goes on sale for $40 a couple of times a year, and also functions as a regular Bluetooth controller for the games I have on my kindle. Being able to play on my TV or my kindle fire 10 is kickass. I have a switch, my kids all have Xboxes so if I really wanted to play a certain game I probably could, but Luna has given me access to AAA games I wouldnt have been able to play without spending hundreds (death stranding, the new star wars fallen order and Jedi survivor, dead space remake, shadow of mordor) for like six bucks a month? Bet. And fortnite looks so much better than on my switch lite. It's amazing that it works as flawlessly as it does. Amazing customer service. I've had to call a few times when the firmware doesn't update right, and I always get to talk to a person who is knowledgeable about Luna, at least they seem they are even if they're just reading off a script, but it never sounds like it, they explain too much for that.

Recently I've returned to cloud gaming in a big way with Luna. The controller is fantastic offering both direct connect and Bluetooth.

The service itself runs flawlessly offering a crisp 1080p/60 display via your web browser. With the Luna+ and Ubisoft+ subscriptions I have a massive amount of games on hand, and I'm very happy they went with the Netflix model vs paid games. I'd always purchase games and never play them, so the Netflix model is much better for me.

Recently they announced a partnership with GOG bringing titles like Witcher & Cyberpunk along with classic retro titles. They announced in March and I'm eagerly awaiting the game drops: https://www.gog.com/blog/more-ways-to-play-your-gog-games-were-teaming-up-with-luna-cloud-streaming-service/

Give Luna a go if it's available in your region. I recommend it.
