My submission was marked as unverified. I did not use any resource from the internet, nor switch tabs in my browsers, nor use multiple browsers. I picked the language Swift and needed to use a heap during the challenge. The heap class does not exist in the language compared to other languages such as Java or Python. Therefore, I copied the heap class in Swift from my desktop into the editor.
This must have triggered their cheat software and stained my application :(. I sent an email to customer support on code signal but it's so lame that paste event would trigger their system.
Moral of the story: pick a language that offers a heap in standard library
Update: They informed me they will not change their decision

Today, I had a general coding assessment, and i lowkey cheated. But I tried to make it as subtle as i could possibly can. Made it look pretty realistic, and I had someone else out of the frame helping me. Im lowkey scared it got caught, I had my phone on my laptop, so its not like I viewed outside of my laptop, kept looking at the screen. Did anyone cheat before and got away with it? Hi I'm an alt, but I've done it (you should do it too. Interviews are bullshit), and it's worked. It's annoying, but not hard. This was probably overkill. The thing you have to understand is that the threat of being monitored is probably a more significant deterrent than anything else, and you're probably fine as long as you don't cheat. I'm not listing the company but the total compensation for the role was like 400k. It was not a junior role. This company has an extremely high rejection rate and the only reason I interviewed at all was practice and because they approached me. Here's what I did step by step. First, take the test interview because you obviously should and see what happens. Then go through the proctoring steps. They make you close all open applications, but they can't really check. What I did was this: First monitor: Firefox (they may have made me use chrome) running codesignal. Maybe even have a text editor open. Second monitor: edge logged into chatgpt. Just make sure it's a different browser. Your os will protect you. Full screen and bright white the entire time so the lighting doesn't shift. Room: brightly lit, light between me and the monitors (overhead lighting is fine). First thing: in Microsoft Windows (I was doing this on a Windows PC), you can choose what icons are on your taskbar; set it so that only applications open on that monitor are on your taskbar. The proctor sees only the programs I have open on that monitor. I have exactly what's allowed (I didn't try the text editor, but maybe I should. If you want to use your phone too, make sure it's not in frame of your webcam at any point, but that it is in reach if you "stretch". Also move the webcam so you're basically never looking straight at it. I have one of those ultra-wide monitors. Webcam is on the left. Second monitor is on the right. I'm basically facing the first and second monitors but not looking right at the webcam, so when I look more to my right, who knows why that is. They'll want you to share your whole screen (but not all of your screens), so just share the screen you prepared. Picking what to share is known to you, not to them, that's kinda the point. You can copy data out of code signal. Pretty obviously, don't copy code in. However, I think it's suspicious if you copy without pasting, so you can and should paste anything you copy into a codesignal window first. Like, copy the entire clock of text out of codesignal and paste it into chatgpt, but also paste it in a scratch text file that won't compile and do some text editing and cleanup while the ai runs. Then you just want to copy stuff by hand from your AI answers into the codesignal ide, but you want to be sensible about it. You'll have to do some work on your end, but it's not that hard; you just farm most of the work out to the AI, type as needed, but stop at logical points to test. If the AI gives you a helper function, write the helper function and make sure the code compiles. If it doesn't, you are 100% allowed (I was on my assessment) to look up syntax, so literally go look up syntax in a new tab in your browser. Do that a few times (not a ton, once or twice will do, get valid answers and use them). Again, you can frame ai prompts as questions in the ide. so I think this function is working right, but I'm not sure how to integrate this with my main code Do that at the bottom of your function, then cut it and stick it into chatgpt (or whatever ai you like), but also like, at the function header. You look like you're just moving things around and thinking. They really can't stop you from copying things out of the browser. I advanced to the on-site but ultimately decided to not keep going when I found out it was more of this bullshit, and I got an offer from another company (less TC, Faaaaaar better work life balance, checked all of my boxes), for an interview I didn't fuck with.

Just took a proctored GCA and I think I did two things that may have been "suspicious behavior". I:
went to cplusplus . com and searched up priority_queue. Then, I clicked on the link to constructor, which had example code (I didn't know cplusplus . com had example code anywhere)
I got a bit excited when one of my answers full scored on my first attempt, and mouthed "holy shit" while bouncing in my chair
Im reading horror stories online -- do these things constitute not verifying the score?

Can't say about the first part but ideally they would know you are doing a syntax search and the sample code that popped up isn't your intention and it would directly help solve the question you have on hand. Second point should be fine as long as it does not constitute suspicion of external communications
