When I charge my controllers directly with the PS5 on rest mode They usually take between 2 hr and 15 min to 2hr and 30 min.
However when I have them charge directly from the outlet they never fully charge, I have spent even 4 hours with the controller charging and the orange light never turns off. Does not matter if it’s a certified cable or if it’s fast charging.
I wish the controller can charge as fast as connected to the PS5 if it is connected to the outlet. ( i don’t have a charging dock)

I think my DualSense came with a defect. This controller is just a bit over 1 month old, got it new with the console.
I put it to charge when the battery is empty and it takes forever to do it.
When it is fully charged the battery last over 8 hours, something that seems normal, but yesterday for example the controller died when playing, I then connected it to the PS5 and played something like 2-3 hours wired. I put the console in Rest mode and went to bed. Today, when I checked, the console was still reporting that the battery was low. Rest mode is configured to give power for 3 hours to the USB ports. I then let it charge another 3 hours and turned on the console again to check, it still reports that the battery is low!
Today I have seen that a new software update came for the DualSense, when I was going to update it I just get a message that the battery is too low for the controller to be updated and that it has to charge more. It has been connected already 2 times 3x hours on Rest mode!
I also connected it the other night to my Xbox Series X to see if there was a problem with the USB port on my PS5 but the result was the same, it was charging for over 15 hours there and the orange light was still blinking.
This doesn't look normal to me.
Any ideas are welcome, thank you.

I am DONE with playstation. Absolutel mess of a system. Nothing but problems since unboxing. Networking issues that persist to this day. Crap hardware that doesn't charge. Insanity.

Bro, your problem got solved? I'm having a similar issue with my dualsense(s)(in some way it affected both), which never stops charging. It passes the normal full charging time (3 hours or so) and keeps blinking orange until I remove it and put it back in the charging station (I use the official charging station).

It takes 12+ hours to fully charge my Dualsense from 0 to 100% using a USB-A to USB-C cable plugged into the USB 3.2 Gen 2 port on my desktop PC. I've tried multiple cables so that's not the issue. A 3.2 port maxes out at 900mA, but there's no way it's charging at anywhere near that amperage.
Would a C to C cable be faster with its 3A cap?

I used to use a c to c cable with the PS5 and it charged pretty fast. I recently got the official charging cradle dock and my controllers stay charged now.

Twelve plus hours is way too long. You need a better controller charger. Ours works with the USB-A to USB-C perfectly and it doesn't take nearly that long. Or you can use our charging dock with our dedicated charging block. Either way is more efficient to charge your DualSense battery faster. Look up maajuhlr and howldr
