The Electrolytic Separator is a block added by Mekanism. It is used to separate fluids into their component elements. ... The Electrolytic Separator (middle) decomposes water, delivered by an Electric Pump on the right, into hydrogen and oxygen. The hydrogen is burned in a Gas-Burning Generator on the left. The Electrolytic Separator is used to separate Heavy Water into Deuterium and Oxygen, Brine into Sodium and Chlorine, and Water into Hydrogen and Oxygen.

If you are only using a single gas, selecting "dump" for the unused gas will vent it to the environment, preventing that internal tank from filling completely and stopping the Separator. Since Mekanism 7.1 (Minecraft 1.7.10) the Electrolytic Separator requires 400 joules of power per tick, ...

r/feedthebeast on Reddit: Mekanism v9 numbers question
May 12, 2020 -

I've been fishing through information online as best as I can, but I'm still not sure what the exact numbers for tritium and deuterium production are, my questions are as follows:

Thermal Evaporation Plant:
Yield: the only information on yield I could find comes from what I think is an old wiki entry at: ftbwiki.org which claims:
brine/lithium produced = water/brine used / 100

Rate: agian same source, which I dont believe, says: water used = temp/2 (in mB) and claims a max temp possible in the tallest tower of 1700 degrees.

If max temp is sustained in a max height plant: 850mB water -> 8.5mB brine per tick, which if processed into lithium becomes 8.5mB brine -> .085mB lithium per tick.

The mekanism wiki has no information on the thermal evaporation plant, just a link to ftb.gamepedia which has no quantitative information.

SNAs according to the mekanism wiki process 1mb lithium into 1mb tritium every 6 ticks. According to the information above one maxed out brine tower funneling into a lithium tower would only produce .51mB lithium every 6 ticks, one SNA can keep up with that, especially if placed somewhere thats always light.... The mekanism wiki also states that you can upgrade the speed of an SNA to 256 times its base speed. One SNA handling over 200 maxed out brine towers is completely different than all the qualitative/anecdotal info I see in other posts.

Where can I find the real yield and rate of solar/thermal evap towers/plants, throughput of rotary condenstrators and speed of SNAs ?

The mekanism wiki says that electric pumps with filters for heavy water collect 20mB heavy water per tick, and that four are needed to match the rate of an electrolytic seperator.

ftbwiki.org is the only place a yield is mentioned quantitatively: 10mb heavy water = 2mb deuterium.

If correct 4 pumps with filters and a electrolytic separator running full bore would produce 16mb deuterium per tick.

To match ratios with tritium production you're looking at over 140 brine towers...

So... thats where I'm at, the numbers available don't match the stories I'm hearing from people online, and I dont have access to the game at the moment. Was hoping someone could steer me in the right direction as far specific up to date numbers are concerned... For reference I'm interested in default mekanism v9 but will be playing on a MC Eternal server...

Thank you for any help you can provide.

r/allthemods on Reddit: Fusion Reactor ATM9
March 4, 2024 -

So I recently finished my fusion reactor and I have a maxed out D-T Fuel setup to pump into my fusion reactor but I’m only getting ~20M FE/tick. Does anyone know what I’m doing wrong?

Some info: If you are going to inject D-T fuel on your own, you need to produce 1000 mB/t to keep the reaction going. This means you need to produce 500 mB/t of Deuterium and Tritium respectively. If you keep this up the reactor will produce around 200 MRF/t (yes, that's 200 million RF, per tick). To produce that amount of D-T fuel at all times you need: 50 Electric pumps with the filter upgrade with 8x energy and speed upgrades in all of them Have 5 of each pump Heavy Water into a single fully upgraded Electrolytic Separator, totalling 10 fully upgraded Electrolytic Separators producing a little bit above 500 mB/t of Deuterium On the other side, for Tritium, have 10 Thermal Evaporation Towers of 18 blocks height (max size) (5 producing water, each pumping water into 5 separate towers producing Liquid Lithium) Have 5 Resistive heaters between them pointing at valves producing heat at 5000 RF/t to get to the desired Liquid Lithium Amount per second Pump Liquid Lithium out of each of the 5 towers into separate Rotary Condensentrators to produce Lithium Have 10 Solar Neutron Activators accept all Lithium, producing Tritium (little bit above 500 mb/t) Pump each of 10 Deuterium and Tritium lines into 10 separate fully upgraded Chemical Infusers and have them all pump D-T fuel into a single Fusion Reactor port This setup will require around 100k RF/t but it is well worth it as you will end up producing an ungodly amount RF/t (200 mil) as a result Some tips: Use ultimate pressure tubes, universal cables and mechanical pipes on all machines If you have a dimension with eternal day in your pack, make your Solar Neutron Activators produce Tritium there for constant Tritium output. In my playthrough I use the Everbright dimension (ATM9). In fact, all my mekanism reactors are located there. To jumpstart a Fusion reactor put a Hohlraum into one of your Chemical Infusers to fill it up with D-T fuel. Put the Hohlraum into the Fusion reactor controller. Fire a beam of at least 400 million RF using lasers pointing into Laser Amplifiers to charge it up. The Laser Amplifier has to point at a Laser Focus Matrix on the reactor itself If you don't want to pre-mix Deuterium and Tritium and pump those 2 in seperately, 1 of each of the above mentioned lines will suffice, as you will need to produce only ~50 mB/t at full insertion (98), but the reactor will max out at ~19 MRF/t If at any point you fail to pump in either D-T fuel or Tritium or Deuterium respectively, the reactor will start to cool off and eventually come to a halt, so the production needs to be constant at all times

You need to start it, with hohlraum (fill with DT fuel) and inject 400MFe minimum with laser amp for start him. In my world i need to start it each joining game

From then on the pump will collect any source block of the fluid it can find, checking any block it can reach going along all flowing blocks of the liquid. In the end, the pump collects all source blocks originally connected to the block it was placed near. It collects 1000mb of water or 10mb of heavy water for a cost of 40 FE per operation.

I'm doing the "fueling the reactor: deuterium" quest and it says that to create deuterium I need to pump heavy water from a pump into an electrolytic separator, when I try to do that the heavy water doesn't enter the separator. Also I can't find the crafting recipe mentioned in the quest in JEI.

November 10, 2016 - I am new to these forums, and new to the Mekanism mod as well. I have spent countless hours on the internet searching for a for these answers, but if there is something out there that I missed, then I'm sorry. Firstly, how do I give water to an Electrolytic Separator automatically? I understand I can use water buckets, but I have to do that manually. I tried using an electric pump by setting it on water surface and even tried 1 block above water surface.
