Hello fellow HD associates, how long have you been working at HD, what’s ur department/ job title and how much do you make?
I recently had a new member added to my department, we’re in the same role but they make more than me. They have been at the company going on 6 years this year ( pt and seasonal) and this will be my third year( ft and pt because of school). I don’t know if I should go to HR about it because we recently got a raise. We are both in speciality but I make the same as a cashier who has been there for longer than both of us and the other person makes more. Please ask questions for clarification, idk if this post is confusing lol
So i work in vaughan at home depot and my wage is currently 17.50/hr, and as of today the minimum wage increased to 16.55/hr so does that mean my wage will increase to 18.55/hr?
Is it just me or is HD Canada doing less for employees??? Over the years they have cut benefits, cut our Health and Wellness spending accounts by 50 % . Here in our province they would give you the HD increases when min wage went up in our province ( stating " We are investing in our people". Min wage went up 6.8 percent in Oct 2023 and we got nothing. If you factor in our increases ( say at 2.5% per associate) to present day its about 250 to 400 extra per associate. 30 k employees that's about 6- 7 million in savings for our precious CEO and President. Our compensation is shrinking, our leaders are worse and we seem to be doing more work than ever. Its more and more obvious they are treating us like an expense. I been with HD 13 years I have to say it is not the same company.
Side note: our VOA survey launched recently and our leadership team wanted us all to do it before end of Jan offering us a chance to win a 100 GC. I figured they wanted us to get it all down BEFORE they gave us our raises knowing we might be upset and voice it on the VOA survey. Also, the sheets they give you doesn't even have the percentage increase anymore so they don't trigger you.
For those curious I got a 1.95 % increase. Not covering my rental increase per month, nor the increase in gas , food prices. Ontario Canada here
