I’m planning on starting my process for switching my out-of-province vehicle registration, insurance, and drivers license to BC.
The only thing I’m a bit concerned about is having to pay taxes on my vehicle when I register it. I believe there was a law that got recently introduced where the government now charges tax based on the blue book value of your vehicle.
I’m currently unemployed and about to become a student so this could really hurt my financial situation (my vehicle is probably worth around 15k).
Buuut, my roommate, who also went through this process last year (before the law mentioned above came in place) went to two different registry or insurance places and told me that the second place didn’t charge him tax on his vehicle.
My question is - did he luck out or do some places not care? Is there a loophole around this?
Hello, Can anyone tell me how much does ICBC registration fee cost for SUV? Thanks!!
