Hi! Why is this intercept cost over $200? Should I try again later, or try to call and put the request in over the phone (is that possible?)?
The seller created a label but never dropped it off the post office. That’s why the tracking said pre transit. More on reddit.com

January 30, 2025 -

Package intercept fees are extremely high.

I was just extorted by USPS. Not only was my package super late, they charged me ridiculous fees for a package intercept.

I signed up for a package intercept, the website said it would cost $18. At my local post office, they made me pay an additional $27 due to the size and weight of the package they said. Never did the website mention additional fees. A combined $45 is more than the original shipping. Had I known the intercept would cost that much, I would have never signed up for it.

After getting nowhere with the manager, I told them that they were extortionists. She laughed me off and told me she didn’t make the rules and that the best she could do is send the package back to the sender. I would have still been out the original $18. So not only are they extortionists, they’re also assholes.

I will avoid doing business with USPS as much as possible from now on.
