If you haven't heard yet, Shutterfly is doing free unlimited photo pages on all of their books until Sunday (The code is FREEPAGES). You can get books up to 110 pages.
I got three 110 page books (soft cover) for $58. One for us and one each for the moms.
It's super worthwhile.
Had two albums almost done at midnight on a Sunday some time ago, and said, no problem: offer is always extended until Wednesday. IT WASN'T! And since then, I have not seen an unlimited pages offer again. Have a photo book with about 70+ pages. Even the coupon I have for 20 free is nowhere near enough.. ugh.
Anyone have a Shutterfly unlimited pages code from the mail? I never received one and would greatly appreciate it! I have a few books to order for my kids soccer team. Thanks!
Do we think Shutterfly will release another sale for unlimited photo book pages within the next few weeks or should I just pay the premium with the current promo codes to get it before Christmas?
How often do they do the free extra pages promo? I know I just missed the memorial day sale, but couldn't get the last photo taken until tonight (last night of exchange family photo). Either way, I will have to mail it overseas once I finally order it - unless shutterfly will ship international.
I was checking out and saw another charge besides the shipping just for the 4x6 prints, is it just me?
TLDR: I saved $796 through spending $164 instead of $960 on four photobooks using codes and discounted gift cards. ($200 total spent with $14 left over in my Shutterfly gift card section)
My Process
I bought four 11x8 photo books ($25), each with:
Removal of logo page ($10)
Matte finish ($7.50)
Memorabilia pocket ($3)
Hard cover ($15)
78 extra pages ($170)
Putting each book at ~$231.50 ($926 total, $961 after tax and shipping).
I applied:
RMN28: 28% off (-$68)
SHIP79: Free shipping: (-$24)
PBLOVE: Free extra photo book pages (-$683)
This put me at $186 ($961 - $775).
I then used Raise.com to buy $200 worth of giftcards for $46 each ($184 total), but used:
15PERCENT: First time users: 15 percent off (-$20)
This put me at having spent $164 for $200 worth of Shutterfly gift cards.
I input the gift cards into Shutterfly, I now owe Shutterfly $0 AND I have $14 left over in my shutterfly gift card account. ($200 gift cards - $186 remaining cost = $14)
BEST SAVINGS EVER. AH.
Total savings $774.99 +I still prefer traditional scrapbooking, but from time to time I do love creating a photo book.
I'm still in the middle of working on my holiday scrapbook. My boyfriend, our friend, and I went to the Lunar New Year parade on Sunday and I took a lot of photos. Shutterfly sent me an ad for a free photo book and I decided to use it.
Let me tell you, it took me about 3 hours to create this book and it wasn't totally free since I added some foil elements. I'm looking forward to the book coming in.
Nice service, but I wouldn't replace the physical scrapbooking process. Scrapbooking is part therapy for me. Creating puts me in a good headspace.
What are your feelings?
Every year my wife and I make a family photobook that we can send to our parents and siblings as Christmas gifts. Well, we fell behind the last two years and are trying to get caught up.
Always used Costco in the past but recently discovered we cannot make photobooks there anymore. No problem, we figured. After some research, we decided to try Mixbook. But after completing the book in their design portal (which didn't seem any better than the Costco one), we realized our project costs nearly $200 per book. Seems insane - the Costco ones were nowhere near that, and the quality was fine.
Has anyone else had to move to a different photo service for photobooks, and what has your experience been?
