Can I open an account for my child who is going to college?
It's easy to open a checking account for your child who is going to college. Simply schedule an appointment, visit a financial center or call to speak to a customer service representative. You can reach a Bank of America representative at 800.432.1000 (Mon-Fri 8 a.m.-11 p.m. or Sat-Sun 8 a.m.–8 p.m., all times ET). Outside the U.S. call 1.315.724.4022 (international collect; cell phone roaming charges may apply).
If your child has not yet left for college, please use your home address as the mailing address for the account. This question was asked over at askeurope and I was pretty suprised by the average high age. I got a bank account in the first grade(7) and the card a year later.
Tbh I still haven't fully understood american banking but as it differs in every country I'm still very curious. Debit/credit whichever first.
E: AskEurope link quite similar answers actually
I buy things online with my moms card and honestly I’m just tired of having to beg to use her card and then her not wanting to give me it at times even though I offer to pay her back in cash so I’ve been asking for an account/ access to a debit card for a while but she just refuses to get me one, I’m looking into getting a job currently so I can have a form of income and having a bank account would be nice currently just to be prepared, every time I’ve asked if she could open me an account she asks with what money, even though every time I’ve asked her id have around $100+ in cash I would be able to deposit. Am I missing something? Would there be fees I’d have to pay monthly which is why she isn’t wanting to open an account for me or does she just not want to? How do I convince her to open an account for me.
I do not want to have to sponsor my parents. I want this account to be mine alone without them knowing. Can someone walk me through the steps and does it have to be in person?
Does Bank of America allow me to receive money from jobs? I currently have an account with wells fargo that my parents manage as well
