December 1, 2023 - Following the news of the crash in the early hours of the morning on August 31, Dodi's father millionaire Mohamed Al Fayed, who at the time owned both London's iconic department store Harrods as well as the Ritz Hotel in Paris had his son's body taken back to London for a private funeral service. In keeping with Islamic tradition, Dodi was buried that same day, following a small private service at a mosque in Regent’s Park. Per an AP report at the time, Dodi's coffin arrived by hearse at the mosque shortly after nightfall; he was later interred at the family estate in Surrey.
