Hi folks. My wife and I are attempting to setup an Amazon baby registry and we would like to include the option to add an Amazon gift card. I understand this is supposed to be there automatically, but we're not seeing it. In settings, there is a checkmark next to "Yes, register for Amazon Gift Cards." Is there something we're missing? Thank you.

Hi! This might be a stupid question, but has anyone added Amazon gift card to their Amazon registry? I know I can add a bunch of 25 dollar e-gift cards, but there doesn’t seem to be an option where anyone can gift any amount! (For example, if I put add a $25 dollar gift card and someone buys it, it doesn’t allow anyone else to buy it)

Or maybe even a diaper fund option, there doesn’t seem to be an option either.

Sorry if this doesn’t make sense!! But any help would be great.

Multiple groups are throwing showers for us (my job, her job, divorced parents means twice as many with family). We’ve bought our big ticket stuff on our own because I’m really awkward with this process and I feel uncomfortable asking people to buy stuff for us.

My wife has put a good number of smaller things on the registry (using Amazon). We do almost all of our online shopping through Amazon so I’d considered gift cards since we might buy diapers on there.

Is that considered uncouth? I don’t want to appear that we are going to go buy TVs or computers with baby registry gifts, but that would help for buying diapers down the road.

What say you? If you think it’s a bad idea, what are some things we might be forgetting to list?

We had some third party gift cards on our registry, and allowed friends to contribute towards them as group gifts, if they chose to… we found out later that any gift contribution could only be redeemed as an Amazon gift card (and could not be used for third party items). In this case we had some grub hub gift cards for when we wanted a night away from cooking ($50 denominations) and even though someone contributed $50, and more we couldn’t redeem a single dollar of it for the intended gift.

Super sketchy bait and switch, for Amazon to pocket money and keep it from third party vendors!!!

I spoke to 2 manager, 2 registry employees and 3 other customer service agents at Amazon only to be told the same thing, with zero sympathy or resolution.

Totally garbage company!
