I just learned that you can hold onto any emoji in keyboard and drag them onto messages, and they will act as a reaction.

Emojis don’t show up when I type the word for it
If anyone in is still trying to find an answer, I tried everything and the only thing that finally worked was sending emojis in iMessage BACK TO BACK TO BACK like 30 in a row. All fixed. More on reddit.com
