The service they are using does the regular reference check, education check, and employment check.
One thing that stands out is the employment verification step where it states “We’ll need you to provide your last two employers details, we’ll be contacting them directly to verify your employment”.
This is always tricky and hate when companies do stuff like this. My last one was able to be verified automatically by connecting my payroll provider.
This role is a 6 month contract but the hourly almost doubles the salary it can potentially screw up. The j1 cutoff 401k last year and my insurance is through them. Debating if it’s worth it.
Any tips or advise from people who have come across a hurdle like this?

What questions are employers allowed to ask during an employment verification check?
What if someone sues us for what we said in a verification?
Can I refuse to confirm employment if there’s no release?
I accepted an offer for J2 and they requested a background check. I fillout out only my personal details got a report back within minutes with all the fields saying pass or eligible. However, I was not asked to provide any detail about employment verification. From what I read in here, I assumed that they would ask for previous employer details along with an option to not contact the current employer, however, I wasn't asked any of that. Only background check and I9 employement eligibility verification.
Does this mean that my company is not doing employement verification at all or I should be expecting something else?
