r/excel on Reddit: How do I get the SUM to reflect the total, including sales tax?
January 26, 2023 -

Hey there!

I used to be good with excel, and I have lost that since I left management. Anyways, I am trying to multiply 2 values B2*C2 to get a total in collum D2, but I need that total to reflect the SUM x the sales tax rate. The formulas I keep throwing in are giving me weird numbers. Essentially I am trying to figure out the formula to get the SUM of the values of B2 and C2 and multiply it by the sales tax and have the final amount including the sales tax. Essentially B2*C2= $8,597.34, but I need the total to reflect the 4.85% sales tax so the total I need to be in D2 is $9,014.32

Is there a way to do like SUM*.485?
