I'm in a rut. Google Domains dashboard is completely shut down during the transfer, and yet they are still billing me for hosting.

I also had an email set up with it, so I'm getting billed for that as well.

I have no way to cancel until Squarespace completely takes over, and then I have to go through their entire onboarding and then cancel through there, which could be... never. There is no promise or timeline whatsoever. Completely unprofessional on google's part. Honestly expected more from them (which is why I chose them to host in the first place).

Can you not go into https://domains.google.com/ and then adjust your renewal settings? It seems to still be there for me. But maybe your domains are further along in the transition process then me.

Surprised you did not a reminder the domain was due for renewal. I get one well over 30 days before it's due from my registar - plenty of time to move if I want to and cancel before payment is due. I also only pay yearly - cheaper that way I find...

It sounds like the remove button is missing because that is your only domain in Google Workspace, or you have no secondary domains. You must promote a secondary domain to be the new primary before removing the current primary domain. More on reddit.com

Anyone know how to cancel their Google Domains Subscription?

Dead simple. Just transfer them to somewhere else before they switch them over to Squarespace, since you’ve got plenty of advance notice.

They did give you enough advance notice, right?

Sorry, not what you want to hear, and I’m kinda blunt, but it’s not them that’s unprofessional in this.

We moved all our domains to Cloudflare.

Google Domains continues to bill me while they transfer to Squarespace, won't allow me to cancel

Google does not care about the end user or the administration of their services. With that said it makes sense that you cannot cancel a subscription while it is being moved to the new owner. The new owner needs a set state to bring everything up. If you want to know the timeline contact SquareSpace. What am I even paying for at this point? Ownership of the domain? That's literally it. Yes, you are paying for the domain. You have to wait until the move to the new provider is complete before you can alter anything. Wait it out. More on reddit.com
