• switch on = sudo echo 0 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/hwmon/hwmon4/pwm1_enable
  • switch off = sudo echo 2 > /sys/devices/platform/asus-nb-wmi/hwmon/hwmon4/pwm1_enable

please note that you must check which folder contanins pwn1_enable (in my case hwmon4)

r/ASUS on Reddit: Zenbook Pro 14 Oled Full fan speed shortcut key
July 6, 2023 -

I have been trying to find a way to have the full fan speed profile linked to a shortcut key. I understand that I can do Fn+F to cycle between fan profiles but it doesn't include full fan speed for the 110W.

Resurrecting an old thread... but wanted to provide an answer if someone come across it. It doesn't have that profile out of the box, and I'm not sure if you can use the shortcut key to cycle to it. Instead, you need to install Asus's ProArt Creator Hub app from the Microsoft app store. In that app, you can set it to the full speed mode as it actually provides all four modes. However, be aware that it will cut the power limits of the CPU down a bit as a trade-off for the extra GPU power limit. Given that the GPU doesn't scale much above the normal 90 watts, and it doesn't scale at all above 100 watts due to hard-coded nvidia power limits, you don't gain much from the setting anyway... but it's there if you want to play with it. I really wish Asus would let you set custom power targets and fan curves for the modes so you could tune things to your liking. Locking that stuff down just makes the laptop less desirable to enthusiasts. It seems to be a really capable machine for its size and weight. Only other negative really is battery life, they do not have that tuned well at all.

r/ASUSROG on Reddit: Any way to control fan speeds on ROG laptop without Armoury hell?
December 13, 2021 -

UPDATE: I found it. The solution is G-Helper:

https://github.com/seerge/g-helper

I'm trying to control fan speeds on my Strix III (Intel 9750H + RTX 2060)

The problem is that the software I used to use (NBFC) no longer works. I tried many fixes online but nothing worked.

I also tried many "fan control" applications but alas, none of them worked.

I don't really want to install Armoury crate again that bloats the OS with tens of services and processes. The thing is, it was pretty handy in controlling fan speeds. But I really want just fan control without Aura sync + ArmouryCrateService + etc.

Does anyone has experience with a 3rd party software that actually worked ?
