To change an Apple ID on your device to another existing Apple ID you simply need to log out of the old one and back into the new one. Go to settings on the iPhone, click on your name at the top, then scroll down and log out.

I saw a youtube video about it and it shows about logging into apple website and etc. but it seems those menus in the video just don't exist in the website.

Yeah, follow these instructions Apple Support it's very straightforward and simple. The only thing that will change is your Apple ID (primary email associated with the account). All your data remains untouched. Just make sure you have, or are changing from, a trusted device, and that you know your password, passcodes, etc.

When my Dad first bought all of our phones (mine, his, and my mom's) years ago, he put all of them under the same email address. This has been an issue in the past but has caused more issues recently when we got new iPhone 16s. I think because the is an electronic SIM card. I'm now getting some of my mom's texts and she is getting some of mine. I want to know how to fix this? I assume I have to change my email address associated with the Apple ID but I don't want to lose my photos or messages or mess up either of my parents data. I just want my phone on my own account. Can anyone talk me through it?? or point me in the right direction

You need to sign out of the current one and create your own account with your email. When you sign out, it will give you the option to delete data from your phone or keep it. If you keep it and then sign in to a new account, all your data will then sync to the new account. Also, any data you delete after signing in to the new account will NOT affect it on the current one. ie, if you sign into your new account and then delete your mom's texts, they won't delete from her account, only yours. You can use Family Sharing if you want to share purchases. If the current account has upgraded storage, you can also share that (the data isn't shared, you just have access to the larger storage pool). Make sure that each family member has a unique Apple Account Sign out of iCloud on your devices If you want to be safe and manually back up data: Archive or make copies of the information you store in iCloud

Hey everyone, my dad shares his apple account with his other kids. This causes some issues with synchronizing contacts etc.
So we want to split it up and create a new Apple ID for him to seperate the devices.

We also just ordered a new iPhone 16 for him, and my question is what is the easiest route to go in this scenario?

Is it easier to:
A: Switch Apple accounts on the old device, then migrate to the new device using the new Apple account

B: Migrate to the new device with the old Apple ID, and then change apple accounts on the new device once everything has moved over?

We want to keep his contacts and preferably also settings for important apps + photos

Your Dad should keep his account and transfer his data to the new phone and log into it with his account. You should make a new account for the kids. If they are children below 13 you can make a child account by creating a family group and tapping “add child” If they are 13 or older just have them make their own account. Your dad should change his password and only let them use their account.
