If putting a ram stick in the 4th slot crashes your machine, then something is clearly not healthy.
It would help to know what you are using for components. What motherboard, video card and power supply are you currently using? What type and speed of ram? Are all 4 modules the same?
I have had power supplies that start to fail by not providing enough current on certain rails. Symptoms were things like USB ports randomly dropping, usually during video intensive thing. The increased draw from the video card pulled more than the power supply could handle.
If you have tried more than 1 ram chip in slot 4 of the motherboard and they do not work, I would suspect you have a board problem, but it could also be mismatched ram.
Hi guys,
Is there any software or method to identify the power shortage on desktop PC components? My PC experiences the following issues:
- Randomly shuts down.
- High speed fan noise on first 5 seconds of powering it on
- Awaking PC from sleep sometimes cause auto PC restart, sometimes NOT (Random)?
- Status of HDD with CrystalDiskInfo software shows Good, 30 'C
- Updated Win 11 OS, Drivers
- Some errors in Event viewer related to Virtual box: updated and should be fixed now.
I know the motherboards has four RAM slots but only 3 of them are working. Putting another RAM in the fourth slots cause PC crash and restart.
How to ensure the motherboard and other components are in good health in this PC?!
Thanks.
