How to Clear CMOS on Motherboard - ROG Forum - ASUS
How would I reset cmos on my ASUS motherboard
there should be a jumper on the motherboard which can be set > power on > set the jumper back > power on. the motherboard manual will tell you where the bios clear jumper is
edit: makesure you power off the machine before changing the jumper
or easiest and lazy way would be to remove the power form the machine then remove the CMOS (silver coin) battery. press the power button, the fans will probably spin for a second, this should clear your bios.
reconnect the battery and power and power on as normal and make any changes you need to your bios

Sorry for the lack of information I have no clue what the model of my motherboard is
I recently bought the ASUS Z790 WIFI motherboard. At first it worked well. After a few days a graceful shut down took place without my intervention. The next thing, the PC would not boot. Every time I drain the power and switch on the PSU it lights up for a second and then turn off immediately. I have two different power supplies, one 600W and the other 850W, but the behaviour is the same for both.
* I have removed the CMOS battery with no results
* I have reseated RAM
* I made sure that ATX power is locked in properly
* I have tested the motherboard with "all" possible peripheral configurations
The only thing that boots the system normally is connecting the Power BTN header while the PSU is on, remove the power BTN header and then clear CMOS with a screw driver which automatically starts the pc gracefully with all devices installed.
The +/- poles of the power BTN header are as per the booklet. Never seen this before...
