As tetsujin said the two systems are not compatible, thus you cannot pair unifying with non unifying or vice versa. The OP cannot do what is wanted with the hardware they have, however they could add a unifying keyboard the dongle of the unifying mouse or add a non-unifying mouse to the dongle of the keyboard.

If the keyboard and mouse are seperate then follow these steps:
- Change the port the USB is plugged into.
If the keyboard and mouse came together or that previous step didn’t work, try these steps: - Check the batteries in the keyboard.
- If that doesn’t work, it may be a driver issue. You can fix this by reinstalling the driver. Click the "Start" button and then click "Control Panel" followed by "Device Manager." Double-click the keyboard device and then click the "Driver" tab. Click "Update Driver" to update your keyboard's driver. Windows will search for and install the best version of your driver. If none are found then you can go to Logitech Support to download and install the driver for your specific wireless keyboard. Reboot the computer after installing and your wireless keyboard should be reset and fully working again.
If you are trying to use a K270 keyboard with a Unifying receiver it will not work because it is NOT compatible with the Unifying system. Check it out, you will not find the Unifying logo on the K270. These are being sold on Amazon as Unifying and it is a scam that Amazon is doing NOTHING about!
I have a k270 keyboard which I would like to pair to my unifying dongle (I have 4 other devices paired to this, I remember 8 is the maximum number of paired devices... right?).
Anyway, when I power the keyboard on/off - the software does see this change, but fails to pair. How can I debug this? Does this keyboard even support the unifying dongle?
I have K270 keyboard, previously connected via the Nano receiver that came with a M185 mouse. Keyboard worked fine for 2 years, no issues, battery full, etc. and shared the Nano w/the mouse with no issues
I lost the M185 mouse, so I purchased new M220 mouse, that also uses Nano receiver (I am aware that Nano and Unifying don't work together). The M220 mouse worked instantly, no issues.
I cannot for the life of me connect the keyboard to the new Nano. Connect Utility software (which I know is how you reprogram) doesn't even recognize the new Nano, despite it literally working as the mouse is functional. Ideas?
