If you have a well-formed JSON string, you should be able to do
var as = JSON.parse(jstring);
I do this all the time when transfering arrays through AJAX.

Is TableConvert really free to use?
Is my data secure when using this online converter?
What file size limits does the online converter have?
Something like this:
JSONObject songs= json.getJSONObject("songs");
Iterator x = songs.keys();
JSONArray jsonArray = new JSONArray();
while (x.hasNext()){
String key = (String) x.next();
jsonArray.put(songs.get(key));
}
Even shorter and with json-functions:
JSONObject songsObject = json.getJSONObject("songs");
JSONArray songsArray = songsObject.toJSONArray(songsObject.names());
Directly put JsonObject i.e. obj into jsonArray
jsonArray.put(obj);
//result is [{ "abc":"test","bed":"cot","help":"me"}]
Final code
JSONObject obj= new JSONObject(str);
JSONArray jsonArray = new JSONArray();
//simply put obj into jsonArray
jsonArray.put(obj);
//result is [{ "abc":"test","bed":"cot","help":"me"}]
It works for me.
JSONObject obj = new JSONObject(result.toString());
JSONArray arr = obj.getJSONArray("value");
If you pass the JSON in your post to json_decode, it will fail. Valid JSON strings have quoted keys:
json_decode('{foo:"bar"}'); // this fails
json_decode('{"foo":"bar"}', true); // returns array("foo" => "bar")
json_decode('{"foo":"bar"}'); // returns an object, not an array.
Try this:
$data = json_decode($your_json_string, TRUE);
the second parameter will make decoded json string into an associative arrays.
Hi all.
I'm trying to set up an automation flow at work, but I've ran into an issue. My flow is fetching data from a SOAP API (an API I do not control), which is returning a JSON object. I need to somehow convert this JSON object into an array, so I can iterate over it in the rest of my flow.
I can't seem to find a way to reliably do this and I'm getting quite mad. The API returns a SOAP envelope, with a return value, which is structured as follows:
{
"id1":{
"value1":string,
"value2":string
},
"id2":{
"value1":string,
"value2":string
},
"id3":{
"value1":string,
"value2":string
},
etc...
}I can convert the return string to a JSON object, but than I have a single object with a load of values I can't iterate over (or at least I don't know how).
Anyone have a good idea on how to solve this?
Script for backward-compatibility: https://github.com/douglascrockford/JSON-js/blob/master/json2.js
And call:
var myJsonString = JSON.stringify(yourArray);
Note: The JSON object is now part of most modern web browsers (IE 8 & above). See caniuse for full listing. Credit goes to: @Spudley for his comment below
I made it that way:
if I have:
var jsonArg1 = new Object();
jsonArg1.name = 'calc this';
jsonArg1.value = 3.1415;
var jsonArg2 = new Object();
jsonArg2.name = 'calc this again';
jsonArg2.value = 2.73;
var pluginArrayArg = new Array();
pluginArrayArg.push(jsonArg1);
pluginArrayArg.push(jsonArg2);
to convert pluginArrayArg (which is pure javascript array) into JSON array:
var jsonArray = JSON.parse(JSON.stringify(pluginArrayArg))
Here you get JSONObject so change this line:
JSONArray jsonArray = new JSONArray(readlocationFeed);
with following:
JSONObject jsnobject = new JSONObject(readlocationFeed);
and after
JSONArray jsonArray = jsnobject.getJSONArray("locations");
for (int i = 0; i < jsonArray.length(); i++) {
JSONObject explrObject = jsonArray.getJSONObject(i);
}
Input String
[
{
"userName": "sandeep",
"age": 30
},
{
"userName": "vivan",
"age": 5
}
]
Simple Way to Convert String to JSON
public class Test
{
public static void main(String[] args) throws JSONException
{
String data = "[{\"userName\": \"sandeep\",\"age\":30},{\"userName\": \"vivan\",\"age\":5}] ";
JSONArray jsonArr = new JSONArray(data);
for (int i = 0; i < jsonArr.length(); i++)
{
JSONObject jsonObj = jsonArr.getJSONObject(i);
System.out.println(jsonObj);
}
}
}
Output
{"userName":"sandeep","age":30}
{"userName":"vivan","age":5}
